Landscapes

My View of Chester County

Some of these paintings are simple landscapes--my version of what's around me. Others, like my still lifes, use objects as vehicles to enjoy natural design. Of course, they too are pictures of "things"; but they are more: a barn's red roof is vertically intersected with trees--yes--but more than trees, they are dark linear bars cutting and dividing the red rectangle behind. Another shows a factory...but more than just an industrial scene; a collection of rectangles and lines, colors and forms, all making up the elements of a visual composition.
